About

A Different Kind of Partnership

The people who find their way here are usually doing important and deeply human work — and looking for the right partner beside them.

After years working across public safety, victim services, nonprofit leadership, and government oversight, including my current service on the Texas Board of Criminal Justice, I built Kessler & Kin around a different kind of approach to advisory work.

This isn't advice from a distance — it's a working partnership that helps move meaningful work forward. One grounded in trust, thoughtful guidance, and practical support that continues beyond the recommendation itself.

That's the kind of partnership I care about building.

I'm glad you're here.

The Story

The Meaning Behind Kessler & Kin

Kessler & Kin is named in honor of Sydney's great-grandparents, Leslie and June Kessler, whose lives modeled an enduring commitment to service, compassion, and community.

Leslie Kessler, a World War II veteran and pastor well into his nineties, and his wife June helped raise and support multiple generations of family — consistently demonstrating what it looks like to show up for others with dignity and care. Their influence shaped Sydney's mother, Tracy Kessler Ramirez, whose own path in ministry and human-centered leadership further instilled the belief that people should always come first.

That legacy continues to guide the work of Kessler & Kin today: strengthening systems, supporting people, and leading with humanity — especially when it matters most.
